Since 2020, we have been developing the workplace concept and layouts for an 18,000 m² office in the Tripolis building in Amsterdam, in close collaboration with Sunday Real Estate. The full interior was recently completed, thanks to the great work of Hollandse Nieuwe and Stone Projectmanagement in bringing this vision to life. The result is an environment that enables the client to perform at their best, supporting healthy and productive employees.
A project that came with some interesting challenges and contrasts. The raw shell is transformed into a functional and welcoming work environment. The combination of monumental stairwells and newly added wings made it a unique puzzle to solve.
The result includes meeting spaces, an auditorium, and a restaurant with a professional kitchen. A great example of what can happen when a strong team comes together on a complex brief.
We’re proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.

Connection with Nature
To connect the iconic Van Eyck office building from 1967 with the new structure, we introduced a green lung. This physical and symbolic link brings the historic and the new together, allowing users to move smoothly between the two buildings.
The route is part of a new circulation concept that supports orientation, connection and interaction. Along the way, we created clear landing zones that encourage meeting, collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
This path acts as the heart of the building, encouraging movement and connection throughout. One standout feature is the Stonehenges, where specially designed lighting installations create inspiring spaces that enhance the user experience.
Strategic Zoning and a Unified Experience
We designed three distinct zones within the building:
A welcoming zone with reception areas, coffee bars and informal meeting spaces
A stimulating zone for collaboration
A serene zone for focused and concentrated work
Each zone serves a different purpose and offers a unique atmosphere, but they are all connected through a consistent and recognizable palette of materials. Natural oak and bio terrazzo bring warmth and a sense of hospitality, while maintaining a refined and high-quality feel.
Apto Architects was responsible for developing the workplace concept for this distinctive office environment. Starting from the client’s ambitions and values, we translated their vision into a clear spatial strategy and functional zoning. Our concept prioritizes connectivity, wellbeing, and intuitive user experience, laying the foundation for a vibrant, sustainable workplace where people can meet, collaborate, and thrive.
